TIRC-AM ELIGIBILITY

Chart Eligibility:

The TIRC-AM was designed to help track the accomplishments of our National Americana Music Scene & Artists. We would love to be able to welcome everyone to our chart but that is not realistic. We want to be as fair as we possibly can and of course work with as many Artists & Promoters as possible. Therefore, we have come up with a few requirements for chart eligibility.

Eligibility:

1.) Artists must reside & actively perform in the United States of America.

*** We do reserve the right to ask a promoter or artist for documentation proving eligibility.***

2.) Your single (or the single you are promoting) MUST be radio ready and radio quality.

3.) Your single MUST be released and available on Spotify or Apple Music . Your song will not be reported if this condition is not met. The Single must be released under each artist and on their official Spotify page.

4.) COVER SONGS OF MAINSTREAM ARTISTS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR FINGERPRINTING OR TRACKING ON TIRC-AM. We love hearing your covers but we are laser focused on career development of artists who are pumping out original content or recording singles they are cutting for original songwriters.

Recurrent Methodology:

***Any single hitting #1 for 3 consecutive weeks will be marked “Recurrent”**

We are focused on reporting CURRENT singles and want our chart focused on new music. Therefore, we will no longer report your song to TIRC-AM after 24 weeks. After 24 weeks your song will go into RECURRENT STATUS. We have a formula in our database that starts counting weeks from the first time a song is reported in our database.

Chart Transparency:

We are focused on reporting the most accurate information that we can. In full disclosure please be advised we have a 3 spin minimum on reporting to our monitoring system at this time. In order to not flood the database with songs not receiving more than 3 spins per week on any given station. To clarify, songs with 3 spins or less will not be reported. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to us.

New Radio Single Submissions:

All new singles must be submitted to our Submission Form for consideration, to be added to our chart. This will allow your single to be fingerprinted and reviewed for ELIGIBILITY .

TIRC AI-Generated / AI-Assisted Music Policy

Effective Immediately — September 2026

The Texas Internet Radio Chart (TIRC) is committed to supporting human artists, musicians, songwriters, producers, studios, and the continued integrity of independently produced music.

Because generative artificial intelligence continues to develop rapidly, TIRC utilizes multiple AI-music detection systems as part of its submission screening process.

Three-Detector Review Process

All music submitted to TIRC is subject to AI-content screening.

TIRC currently utilizes three separate AI-music detection systems rather than relying upon the determination of any single platform.

TIRC's established AI detection threshold is 15%.

If two (2) of the three (3) detection systems return an AI-related probability, score, or detection result greater than 15%, the single will not be accepted for TIRC chart eligibility.

This standard will be applied consistently to all submitted singles.

Detection Results Are Screening Tools — Not Accusations

TIRC recognizes that AI-music detection technology is evolving and that different detection systems may produce different results when analyzing the same recording.

An AI-detection score should not automatically be interpreted as proof that an artist, musician, producer, engineer, studio, or other party intentionally used generative AI in the creation of a recording.

Modern recording, editing, processing, mastering, encoding, plug-ins, and other production techniques may potentially affect automated detection results.

Accordingly, a TIRC determination that a recording exceeds the established detection threshold represents a chart-eligibility determination under TIRC policy only.

It should not be interpreted as an accusation of misconduct, dishonesty, copyright infringement, or intentional use of generative AI by the artist or anyone involved in the recording.

Artist & Promoter Responsibility

Artists, labels, managers, promoters, and other representatives submitting music to TIRC are encouraged to review their final commercially released master prior to submission.

The recording submitted to TIRC should be the same final master being promoted to radio.

It remains the responsibility of the submitting party to ensure that a recording complies with TIRC's current eligibility requirements.

Ongoing Industry Review

Artificial intelligence and AI-detection technology are developing extremely quickly. TIRC recognizes that policies appropriate today may require modification as detection technology, recording practices, industry standards, and available research continue to evolve.

For that reason, TIRC will be consulting with leadership from the other two Texas-based charts regarding the continuing issue of AI-generated and AI-assisted music within our industry.

The purpose of these discussions is to better understand how Texas charts can approach AI-related eligibility issues consistently, responsibly, and fairly while protecting both chart integrity and the reputations of legitimate artists, musicians, producers, and studios.

TIRC's AI policies, detection procedures, thresholds, and eligibility requirements are therefore subject to change as technology and industry standards evolve.

Any material change to TIRC's AI eligibility policy will be communicated to artists, promoters, reporting stations, and other appropriate industry participants.

Current TIRC Standard

Threshold: Greater than 15%
Detection systems used: Three independent AI-music detection systems
Eligibility trigger: Two of three systems return results greater than 15%
Result: Single is not eligible for acceptance to TIRC
Purpose: Chart eligibility screening — not a determination or accusation of intentional AI use

This version gives you something the previous policy needed badly: the rule is objective and published, but you are not representing the detector as infallible. That's particularly important because research in 2026 has documented that detector performance varies by model and that editing can create spectral characteristics that overlap with synthetic-audio fingerprints.

Station Panel Qualifications & Requirements:

We hold our panel to a specific criteria. In fact, we only allow stations with 10 - 20% of their programming dedicated to current singles out to Americana Radio. That equates to our standard average of 250 current radio single spins per week (over a 3 week period or average of 3 weeks).

If a station fails to meet this standard, we will issue a warning and allow 3 weeks for them to adjust their station. TIRC-AM Station Panel Membership is voluntary and stations may come and go as they please. If the issue isn't resolved at the end of the grace period we will remove the station from the panel and replace it.

Any station participating or caught engaging in Pay Per Click Banners (Pay to Play) or Payola for spin increases will be removed from the panel IMMEDIATELY. TIRC-AM does not support or condone extorting Artists or Industry Professionals for personal or professional gain. YOU HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED.

Our current monitoring system is a Write In Reporting.

Station Panel members may only have ONE station representing their brand.

TIRC-AM has a "Spin Cap" - this is to prevent manipulation of the weekly chart. We cap each station at 40 spins per week per artist. The minimum spins for an artist to track is 3 per week. Data is an expensive commodity these days and so is storing it. Until we are able to obtain adequate support to fund the growth of TIRC-AM this policy will remain in place.

While we do NOT dictate a station's programming, we stress that our mission statement for TIRC-AM is to help develop and promote Artists in our National Americana Music Scene.

Stations that do not fit this criteria will be removed from our panel so we can focus on stations that are onboard with our goals and mission statement. We hand selected these stations because of their honesty, integrity, and the fact they go above and beyond for our National Americana Music Scene & Artists. Their work ethic and commitment to the radio industry are second to none.
